Bio: My name is Sherry Loftin, the English Language Arts teacher for Middle School.

As a professional urban educator that believes in crafting world-class learning opportunities for 21st century students, I believe that students are in charge of their learning and learn best when they are expected to think critically for themselves.

This is my 11th year teaching and fourth year as a proud Hearst Warrior. I hold a master’s degree in Elementary Education from DePaul University and am a leader in instructional practices and educational technology.

I truly have a passion for helping to build the character and academic strength of the children that I teach. I remind myself of why I educate daily and appreciate my opportunities to empower the leaders of tomorrow.
